Apply the patch right away after you remove the patch from the protective pouch and remove the plastic liner. Place the patch flat on the skin with the sticky side down and firmly press around the edges. Make sure that the patch sticks well to the skin. If the liner is hard to pull off, or if you see any glue or adhesive sticking to the liner, do not use the patch.
Instead, throw it away and use a new one. Some men apply it near bedtime—in the clinical trial, men put it on around 10 PM. By putting the patch on at night, you get the most testosterone in the early morning and less at night.
Do not change the dose without discussing it with your healthcare provider. Sometimes, a patch may fall off, and in that case, the time of day it happens matters. Before noon: Put on a new one and wear it until you put on a new patch at your regular time that evening. After noon: Do not put on a new one; rather, wait and apply a new patch at your regular time that evening.
Throw it away and use a new one. Follow the guide above for applying another patch after your MRI. Selling or giving away this medicine may harm others and it is against the law. Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. You should seek emergency medical attention and call right away if you experience symptoms of an allergic reaction, including breathing difficulty, tightness in your chest, hives, rash, itching, swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, difficulty swallowing or dizziness.
Also seek medical attention if you experience any of the following potentially serious side effects: enlarged breasts; breast tenderness or pain; changes in the shape or size of your testicles; prolonged or painful erection; loss of appetite; stomach pain; nausea; vomiting, including bloody vomit or vomit that looks like coffee grounds; urination problems, including having difficulty urinating or urinating more frequently than usual; dark-colored urine; blood in the stool or black or tarry stool; light-colored stool; swelling in your legs or ankles; weight gain; yellowing of your eyes or skin; mood changes, including depression; breathing problems while sleeping and gingivitis, which is a gum disease.
Other less serious side effects include: irritation around the areas where you apply the patch, including pain, itching, burning, blisters and redness; acne; headaches; changes in libido; fatigue; hair loss; mouth or gum irritation, including tenderness, swelling and pain; and a strange taste in your mouth.
