Windows xp remote access service dependancy

This is my first time using Message Analyzer, so not sure which is the best to get the result. I can see NTLMv1 extended security from source to destination, then status logon failure returned from destination to source. That may be the reason why it always says username or password incorrect. I changed the actual username and IP addresses in the trace result so as not to post sensitive information:.

Regards, Bob D UK. I'm looking for a tool to support remotely over internet Windows XP embedded systems. I have found a great tool named 'teamviewer' to support remotely windows systems no need for fixed public IP address and no problems with possible firewalls but embedded systems are not supported.

It should be possible to start the tool automatically as a service. Given that you have found a tool that works under XP, it should work on the embedded system providing you include all its dependancies etc.

I would suggest that you install the software onto an XP Pro machine with dependancy walker first to get an idea of what modules, files etc it needs, also using filemon and regmon should go a long way towards getting all the requirements for you so that you could successfully build an image that supported that tool. RDP would suck if used in the standard way, however, there are any number of hacks out there to enable multiple RDP sessions and they work fine on XPE.

Once you have a hacked RDP, life is good. Easy fix To resolve this issue, make sure that all dependent services have been started. To do this, follow these steps:. Click Start , and then click Help and Support.

Under Pick a Task , click Use Tools to view your computer information and diagnose problems. In the Tools area, click System Configuration Utility. In the right pane, click Open System Configuration Utility. This opens the System Configuration Utility. Make sure all the following services are turned on. To turn on a service, click to select the check box. For additional information about this issue, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:.
